A new day, a new month

HAPPY 1ST JULY!

Another new month is upon us and good lord, we are officially into the second half of the year.. How mad is that?! I genuinely am not sure where the last 6 months have gone and I know I'm not alone in this

Instead of viewing it as a negative thing though, I'm going to focus on ALL the amazing things to come

And I urge you to do the same

This mid-way point can either be a time to beat yourself up for what you haven't yet achieved (but I don't recommend this)

Or a chance to set some goals, and journal your little heart out to discover what you want to be ticking off by the end of the year

This mid-way point in the year is often a funny one

I shared on my stories this morning that 8 years ago, I had just got engaged

I was on cloud 9000 at that point and the memories now cause a lil sting because apparently my fiancee did not feel the same and we broke up 18 months later (dw you're not getting the heartbreak story because safe to say it was a LOT and I am forever thankful to my clients who didn't break up with me when I couldn't get through a PT session without crying for about 6 months)

Safe to say, thanks to the wonder of facebook memories, this weekend often causes a bit of negative self reflection.. Why couldn't I make it work? Why don't I have a house? Why am I not engaged at 33? I mean the list goes on.. BUT

This year.. I laughed

I genuinely took a moment and smiled

Because I am so far from that girl

It is so easy to get caught up in comparing your timeline to everyone else's

Even on a yearly basis

Sure, some people you know smashed a marathon in April

Or achieved a PB that you didn't

They might be further on in their job, relationship, insert other topic here

But you can choose to focus on what they have and you don't or focus on all the amazing things you do have and all of the wonderful things you have yet to come

So take 5 this afternoon

Write a list

What's gone well so far this year?

What do you want to achieve in the next 6 months?

If your goals for the next 6 months involve getting stronger, working on your relationship with food, losing fat + keeping it off, or injecting some extra confidence into your world.. Well, I'm your gal

My goals for this month inc pushing MY health + fitness to the top of the tree because it was sorely lacking in June so I'm off for 30 minutes on the peloton
